Currently I'm running with a i5 3570k 3.3ghz processor though i'm looking to get a i7 5820k 3.3ghz so as of this moment i'm looking for a mobo for either to suite my needs.

The primary purpose of my computer is gaming/streaming an the occasional video renders/uploads.

Would love something that has built in wifi (was looking at the msi x99a godlike gaming but was told its overkill)

so any recommendations?

The motherboard doesn't really affect performance. If you don't need any other special features, the cheapest 3 options with wifi come in atx, eatx, and matx: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/motherboard/#sort=a8&page=1&s=28&e=31,15,30,14,6,8

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

built in wifi usually sucks. think about it:

  • You put it in a metal box
  • You put it next to high current hardware
  • it is on a board with about a million other small parts that all need to be cheap. It probably is also pretty cheap.

I would get an external solution if you go for wifi at all

Hmm This makes me want to re-look at the x99. Based on reading reviews the wifi is still amazing. An sadly I'll need it. Theres no real option for me to go with a wire unless I find a repeater/extender that has a source plug.
