Why 0.o

Don't think you could route server traffic through a VPN unless you owned it. It would hide the IP, but people wouldn't be able to connect to it. Maybe if he purchased as VPN that allows port-forwarding... probably still won't work.

DO NOT! and i mean DO NOT! host anything public on your home connection.

theres plenty of reasons to not do so, and theres plenty of hosting options as an alternative.

Okay well I don't want to invest money into something right now that could fail completely. I just need a temp way to hide the ip. Also, if it's just DDOSing that should be my concern then I'm not really worried but if there is anything else that is risky let me know please.

theres plenty of nasty stuff out there, and its as simple as a script kiddie thats a sore loser.

i'm gonna say better safe than sorry, as theres VPS boxes out there for only a few dollars per month, which would keep everything off your home network, in a decently managed datacenter.

Okay yeah that's what I need I guess. I want to keep hosting off my PC for now if possible because to be honest it would be faster than a cheap host. However, I don't want to use my ip.

the moment it hits your home network, its PRETTY easy to find your IP, whatever you put in front of you.
