Which offers the best gaming experience... 1440p/144hz or 4k/60hz?

Is gsync worth the extra money and fps hit?

1440p 144Hz is almost best. If you can get G-sync with it too then you have the best experience.

1440p - 4K is not worth.
G-sync isn't really worth the extra 200$ when Free-sync is basically free.

He has 2 980s - not going to be an issue :P

1440p 144hz imo is the sweetspot for gaming

It's doesn't do anything to fps, it basically creates smoother gameplay

with your cards G-sync isn't needed - you will be above 60 fps so just use V-sync to cap it and save some cash - maybe buy a cat - those are cool ^_^

The truly BEST gaming monitor in all aspects is coming out in a few months. Two of them.

 

1300$ Acer x34 - 34inch, IPS, 3440x1440, 100hz + gsync
1300$ Asus pg348q - 34inch, IPS, 3440x1440, 100hz + gsync

Thats cool at 4k, but what about a 1440p/144hz monitor? Would gsync benefit there? I'm on a 1080p/120hz-4k/30hz tv now. The only time I've experienced tearing is in 4k because I was getting over 30fps, and the only time there was stuttering was in Skyrin and Star Trek Online. I get none of that in newer titles like BF4, DA:I and TW3.
