I know the difference between the Superclocked and the Super-superclocked GTX cards on paper, but in real-world does it make a huge difference? In our editing guy's computer at work there's a GTX970 SSC running on a Z97 board with a 4790k CPU and 32GB DDR3 RAM. In my computer, I'll be running a GTX970 SC on a X99 board with a 5820K and 16GB DDR4 RAM. I'm curious what sort of real-world difference I should expect for video editing. Please don't talk about gaming, because I'm not a gamer - the only game I even play is Minecraft, and we all know that can run on a laptop with an i3 anyway.

thanks for any help, guys.

If what I'm posting has already been posted, I'm sorry.

The SSC has a better cooler, whereas the SC was just pulled off an older card -- so with the SSC all the heatpipes make contact (which isn't the case with the SC).

So the difference will be that the SC should technically run a bit hotter (at the same clocks).

no difference

and you can probably OC the SC to SSC levels or beyond

so really it just depends how lucky you get with OCing, spending extra money on SSC is not really worth it
