Windows 10 Battery Life

Ever since I've updated to Windows 10, the battery life on my laptop has dropped significantly by pretty much 50%. Before on Windows 8.1 I would be getting an average of around 4 hours of battery life and now on Windows 10 the laptop can barely squeeze out a meager 2 hours. This laptop is based on the Ivy Bridge platform, I don't know if that makes a difference. Does any one else seem to be having battery life issues and how did any one go about solving this?

 

Specs are:

Lenovo P580

Intel Core™ i7-3520M 

GT 630M 

8 GB RAM

Samsung 750 GB  HDD

I'm running on Balanced settings within Window's built in Power Manager.

Early drivers, you'll have to wait till manufacturers slowly update them and tweak them to get acceptable battery.

If this gives another clue, the laptop is also running considerably hotter than before the upgrade even though CPU clock speeds are at the normal minimums ~1.57GHz (Max turbo is ~3.5GHz).

Windows 10 should run at the same battery usage as windows 8. Just make sure to close an app when ur done!

Intel for chipset, storage, etc, nvidia for graphics, realtek for audio, etc.

On my windows tablet, I haven't noticed any drop in battery life, I still get between 8 to 10 hours out of it.

Though I do feel that fast boot, or whatever it is, that makes windows "shut down" yet not really "shut down" when I close the tablet, is draining the battery a lot while I don't use it. As in, drained completely overnight.

Lenovo hasn't updated the support page for my model since 8.1.

Does it have 2 GPU? maybe its using your high end gpu all the time?
