use 26.6 and if 4.3ghz isnt stable at 1.15v then bump  it up to 1.18v, try it again, then if its still not stable bump it up by 0.1, so 1.19v etc.

So I have an i5 4690k @3.5 (3.9 turbo).

The max I have recently gotten it to with my Hyper 212 EVO is 57C on two of the cores; avg of 55.5C under load.
Idle has gone as low as 29C.

What should I shoot for?

I don't know very much about OCing, aside from the fact that you want voltage to stay as low as possible.

I went for 1.25V and 4.2GHz on my 4670k with a H100i. It's a safe place to start I'd say.

I went for 1.25V and 4.2GHz on my 4670k with a H100i. It's a safe place to start I'd say.

So change the multiplier or the clock speed?

And I would assume do it through the mobo bios?

i have 4690k and i run it @4.6 GHz with 1.50 V and under stresstesting to bring out max temps it never gets hotter than 77C (using antec kuhler 650)

WTF ARE YOU DOING!!!!!!! 1.5v!!!!!!!!!

 

thats a very very bad chip, mine can do 4.6ghz at 1.23v

 

you're gonna have a broken cpu very soon.

my friend has his at 4.5ghz, 1.19v and it hits around 70c with the same cooler, you may need more voltage depending on your chip, but aim for 4.4-4.5ghz.

you will get a bluescreen if its not stable.

Got it to 4.19

Tried doing 4.4 in the bios, but the bios froze O_o

Did a cinebench stress test, got up to 76C. Haven't checked idle yet.

The thing that worries me is the voltage keeps going to 1.336... I didn't see an option to change voltage.

multiplier and go for something around 4.3. Just watch out for temps

what you want to do is go into "all controls" then you see the "core voltage" set this to around 1.15v and next to it make sure its "static", then you want to set your cores so that theyre all the same, start off at around 4.2ghz, if you get a bluescreen up the voltage, if you dont keep going up by 0.1Ghz, so 4.2,4.3 etc.

no. all you do is change it and click apply.

did you test it..... did you run a benchmark tool, did you click apply?

 

no all you do is change the core multiplier at the bottom.

 

show me what urs looks like.

Multiple programs say its running at 3.5 when I have it set for 4.2...

I did hit apply. and i'm running the intel benchmark.
