should I watercool ram

Go to solution Solved by OddsCrazyStuff,

I'm doing it for looks to but if the cpu heat gets the ram even hotter then I won't do it cause..yeah

If you are that worried about it, add another fan space worth of radiator.

The ram should not produce more heat then that.

Also, remember to take height difference into account when getting fittings:

Hello,I'm doing a water cooled loop soon and I'm wondering if I should watercool my ram?I'm I have 1 quad rad for this loop for the cpu so If I watercool the ram it will be in the same lop as the cpu, considering that will the ram just get hotter because of the cpu heat or will it get cooler?

Water cooling the ram is like water cooling the motherboard, its not needed unless you push the system to its max.

So most people only do it for the looks.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

No point at all, if you want to overclock your RAM to the limits, just buy Dominator Platinum, the heatsinks are huge.

Main PC: i5 4590 @ 3.5 GHz ♦ RX 480 Armor OC ♦ 16 GB DDR3 ♦ GA-Z97-HD3 ♦ 120 GB 840 EVO ♦ 120 GB Intel 520 ♦ W10 Home

Scrapyard PC: Xeon X5460 @ 3.8 GHz ♦ HD 7870 ♦ 8 GB DDR2 ♦ GA-P35-DS3L ♦ 80 GB Intel 320 ♦ 160 GB WD Caviar SE ♦ W10 Home

just doing it for looks :D

Oh alright didn't really read description. Watercooling it probably wouldn't hurt it, temps would probably stay the same.

is that 64 gigs?2 4 ram waterbloacks?

Dont know, just took an image that had water cooled ram.

It was just to show that you need to account for height difference when getting fittings, unless you go crasy with tubing.

Im in the progress of building a cooling loop and i start just basic. But i plan ahead and im wondering of the same thing. is it actually needed? in my case its just corsair ddr3 1333mgz

I assume those can take a lot of punishment before overheating. I havent read anything about ram passing out from overheating.

6 dimm bitpart waterblock would cost me 200usd something i rather spend somewhere else.

Only time I know its "needed", is when you are pushing your system to the limit with overclocking.

Since at those extremes so might you hit the limit on the ram and motherboard tempratures, before you hit the CPU limit.

Other then that, its mostly for looks.
