First I want to thank Linus and the team, I'm a first time PC builder and couldn't have done it without their YouTube videos.

I decided to use the demo of 3DMark on Steam. I ran the demo version of Firestrike and Skydiver.

Firestrike

Score of 9372

Graphics:11582 Physics:7848

Skydiver

Score of 16472

Graphics:20318 Physics:8218

My build

Gigabyte Ga-Z97X-UD3H-BK

i5 4690K

Vapor-x R9 290

16 gigs of ram at 1600mhz

Corsair RM750 PU

Stock clock speeds as I'm still running the stock CPU cooler.

Now my question. In Firestrike I'm right in line with the score for a Oculus rift recomended spec, in Skydiver I'm below it by 5715 points. Why the difference? It has me a bit concerned, I'm happy with the Firestrike score but troubled by the Skydiver. I know the two scores are not meant to be compared but the recomended spec for Oculus Rift should be, right?

My PC is only a week old but will post pictures this weekend in the build topic.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Thanks for the response. Are you running a Sappire or other brand of 290? Are you overclocking your GPU?

*edit

Ran firestrike again with the tempGT running so as to collect my CPU peak temp. 65C So at least I'm not running hot xD

If anyone asks you never saw me.
