Is that $350 USD and $550 CAD? If so, go for it. It's really not that bad of a difference compared to other places.

its still 550 bucks though is what people dont understand. we dont make more money because our dollar is worth less and things cost more. 550 bucks is still 550 bucks, same as it would be to an american, its a lot of dough for a dinky little computer part.

Well I just checked the latest conversion. $350 USD= $460 CAD. So its still way overpriced.

The Canadian dollar is also very weak right now. As well us Canadians have always had higher prices.

I might wait until it evens out and then buy in the states and save 100 bucks.

If you look at the last time our dollar took a tumble. I doubt it's going to come back before the video card you're looking at will be obsolete. I'd suggest just sucking it up. It is what it is and there's nothing you or I can do about it.

To answer I would wait. This actually opened my eyes to how overpriced cards are today. I was planning to buy but I'm definitely waiting till Black Friday or Christmas.

If you compare it, $350 USD = £228 but the 390X is still £330 ($504 USD and $668 CAD) over here. I'd say the price for Canada is pretty good.

Hey man, I'm not saying we're the ones having the worst time over here. I always wonder how Canada can differ so much from the the US when  were so close to it. I guess that's just how the world works.

Well, the US tends to get the better end of the stick, due to the fact that a lot of the companies making the products are based there, so shipping and tax costs get put on the price in other countries to cover the costs of importing/exporting them.

Canada is also a huge (spread out) country with a relatively small population. Hell, you have almost half the UK's population but over 40 times the land mass, things have got to travel a long way. Not to mention most of the major Canadian cities are on the coasts. It's a long way for stuff to travel, so prices are pretty certain to be higher.

Still, I like Canada. Went to Ontario a few years ago, Toronto is a very nice city (nicer than NYC if I may say so), though very hot when I went. It's all very different than here in the UK, you can drive from one end of the country to the other in a day, and London doesn't have you constantly looking up at massive buildings like a lot of US and Canadian cities.

All very valid points. I guess import costs and such could be the cause of  that price jump, but I thought with NAFTA (some north american national trade deal) tariffs and import charges wouldn't add 15-20% to a ticket price.

Also I'm like 30 min from Toronto, and ya I guess its a pretty nice place. I'm not much of a city boy myself. More of a country bumpkin that uses manure generated electricity to light my house and my power computer. When I want more FPS I give the cows taco bell for an energy boost.
