To start off with, the RPG genre is not my favorite genre to play. Ive only played a few RPG's all the way through that i loved. Those games consist of Mass Effect series and Fallout 3. Most RPG's like Skyrim, I'm not the biggest fan of. Ive played Dragon Age Inquisition and i like it but i just cant see myself phtting in multiple hours into it. So According to that info, is there another RPG you would think i would like (Witcher 3?) 9r should I stay away from RPG's until Fallout 4 or Mass Effect 4?

If you don't enjoy the genre, you'll get more entertainment in burning whatever cash you would have spent on said game(s) than you will playing them.

The Witcher 3 is great, it's simply amazing quality in almost every aspect. It nails the important parts of a RPG, a living and awesome world, great writing, meaningful dialogue and varied choices.

I don't think OP doesn't enjoy the genre, but more likely that the range of games he enjoy in the genre is pretty narrow.

I'm telling the truth! I AM a 12 year old girl!

The problem with 'which RPG?' is that there are sooo many different types of RPG, every genre of game merges with other genres making finding a game of a 'pure' genre difficult.

Try stepping away from FPS RPG's and into the Fantasy 3rd-Person Action RPG games like Darksiders.

Personally if som1 asked me to name a few RPG's I would never ever include in my list games like Fallout or Mass Effect. They are more FPS than RPG imo.

RPG by today standard is big mess up

slap level up and items in Shooter game = FPS RPG

slap level up and items in platformer game = Platformer RPG

slap character background in action game = Action RPG

for me there are only 2 RPG

western RPG (WRPG) and Japan RPG (JRPG)

considering you don't like DAI, which is like most MMORPG out there, chance you will like any RPG is pretty low.

stick with mainstream "RPG" by today standard probably you'll be okay.

if witcher 3 is RPG today

then GTA V can be considered as RPG, even Watch Dog classified as Action RPG.

including Fallout and Mass effect, both to me wasn't RPG, they are like 3rd person action shooter with deeper stories, that's it.

Well, in Mass Effect you clearly played a Role. RPG is not only about stats and items. But general im with you here. Times like Baldursgate and NWN are long over :/

Pillars of Eternity and Divinity Original Sin are rare these Days.
