Building a internet PC for a older person

Spookies_

Part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Spookies_/saved/#view=b4PWGX

The build is for a older person to browse the internet, stream netflix, use skype and stuff. The goal is to build a PC that will last for a very long time (6-8+ years). Here's my questions:

  • Are there any compatibility issues?
  • How is the CPU? I'm planing on wiring it with eitherenet when its in the TV, but the Wifi is on the motherboard so she can move it around. If the motherboard changes, then I'll put a Wifi card on there (no graphics card).

Thanks. We'll be using Windows 7 for the build.

Edit: I'd like the build to be under $375

The Athlon doesn't have integrated graphics.

I accidentally hit solved on your post, sorry. Any recommendation for a different CPU?

How will the performance differ?

You probably won't notice much of a difference if it's just used for these simple stuff; it also has integrated graphics

Are you sure that the motherboard will work with the CPU?

Are you sure you wanna go with win 7?

The extended support ends in 4 years and you want to run the system for 8.

Also consider a larger 256gb mx100 for 90$ or so since crap accumulates over the years

and probably nobody will check if c gets too full.

Win 7 because I have it for free, and it can be upgraded by that time.

She has a 140gb HD on her PC, only used up 100gb and thats with some older games of mine.

I changed the PSU because it's for small cases and will make this a lot easier to build. I changed the ram to dual channel because it will give better performance even in day to day tasks and the chances of her needing more are very slim. Lastly I put in a GPU that will be more than enough for her as well as got rid of one fan because you really don't even need a exhaust fan due to that 120mm fan that will force the hot air out but I kept one 80mm anyways.

Oh wait you can take that GPU out the on-board graphics should be fine
