Don't expect people on LinusTechTips.com to proofread your paragraphs. You should try to go to https://www.reddit.com/r/GrammarNazi/ and post it there.

Shoudnt you mention something about the British breaking Enigma? They knew everything the germans would do, so in theory they could never loose the war, right?

You missed out the part about the unanimous country-wide vote in America if they should test superweapons on foreign cities.

Oh wait, there wasn't one.

And about how much more of their own men and resources they were willing to commit to stop a faraway country from taking the other half of the planet, after having dealt with that mess in Europe.

Using such weapons is by no means justifiable. I am no American. But those people on the streets don't deserve to be blanket painted as cold hearted criminals for something that happened a long time ago and something beyond their control.

Many good men and innocent civilians died in that war. Ordinary people have no desire to go on a mass murdering rampage. Its the few crazies that led those people. There weren't two of them. There were four.

The one thing you missed in your argument was the tenacity of the Japanese military, as well as the civilians. An invasion of mainland Japan would have cost more lives of, not only the military personnel on both sides, but the civilian population of Japan as well. The military would have never surrendered, and as seen on Okinawa and Saipan, the mass suicides of the civilians who would have rather died than surrender to the US military. More lives would have been lost than the two cities that were bombed combined. It would have been a major bloodbath. It was the main reason the US government decided to do what they did. Millions more would have died in an invasion of the Japanese homeland. Sad but true.

It's always a good day if you woke up breathing.
