A Wedding Invitation

This is likely the most off-topic I could ever go. And no, you're not invited, sorry. There's only room for so many people.

 

But me and my wife to be would very much appreciate all design ideas for the invitation cards. We're planning on having them printed and perhaps crafting some details ourselves. The wedding is going to in December and the theme is Christmas. Not so much the religious or commercial implications of it but the peaceful, family-centric and wholesome feel of it. We're somewhat set on the green-red-white-and-gold color theme. I'm very tech-savvy, so are most of my friends. And she's the absolute opposite of it and so are our relatives. To us, our friends and family are very important, certainly the number one reason we are throwing a party in the first place. That's why we want to put real effort into the invitations too. This is for them.

 

So, if you have the tiniest, good idea for the design, we'd love your input! It can be written description just as well as a picture. Funny, beautiful, generic, original, any little thing goes! If there's something that'll tie the design into the reception itself, all the better.

 

We're not expecting ready works and would be too humble to accept one. So please don't put all your heart and soul in this, just a tiny part.

I might be a bit boring here. But plain white cards with gold lettering is the only thing i can think of

God damn it I was gonna make that joke ... 

 

You can have two version of the card ... One could be a QR code or some simple code ( Maybe Binary ) . The other can be family-centered ... 

 

Also the one Mega Dave posted is very good for the back of the card . 

 

For the non tech-savy side , you could do what techswede mentioned ...
