Xeon temps and test software

Go to solution Solved by zzenigmaxzz,

Yeah but prime95 shouldn't be used with Intel processors (i've heard) and aida64 is very expensive right?

you can use it for 30 day free trial

Hi everyone,

Today I received my Xeon E3-1231 v3 and installed it. I have run PerformanceTest (by Passmark) and the scores look very good (better than the score for this processor on their site).

I wanted to check the temperatures to see if they are good. Right now I am running Folding@Home and Open Hardware monitor and the temps are 40-50 degrees celsius (50 on core 1 which is loaded 50%). I just wanted you opinion in this (seems kind of high to me) and I was wondering if anyone knows a good (and free) program to load the cpu to check the temperatures under load. I am using a Hyper 212 plus and I am always a little spaced out about the whole applying thermal paste, it's never gone wrong but still...

Thanks :D
