I want to build a new PC because I'm running into a lot of money and feel like upgrading. This build is going to be for gaming (Mostly Counter Strike, but also; Fallout 4, Heavily Modded Skyrim, Shadow of Mordor, ect.) Recording, Rendering, and Streaming. Now I haven't been in the tech scene all summer so I don't know how well the new Intel CPU's stack up against the 5930k. The Intel SSD is going to be my boot drive with a lot of game, the two Samsung SSD's are for recording at 1440p at 144fps, and the Seagate drive is for backup and other storage. So, how does it look, and what can I change? Now with pricing, I'll really only go up to $7500 if I really have to.

Neither of the new CPUs are more powerful than a 5930k, so youre fine on that.

That's a monster build, I see no real issues with it. The powersupply is a bit overkill, but obviously you are fine with spending the money on an overkill system.

Just a word of warning with 1440p/144 recordings...

Do some serious testing before spending much money to do this.  You will need stupid high data rates to where 1 TB drives aren't large enough if you record lossless or near-lossless, which, if such a high framerate is important to you, you should be doing.

But the more real problem is that I have found it just doesn't work well.  I have tried many programs and codecs and nothing can handle 4k/60 (similar data rate, this is just what I tested with) properly, even with my 850 pro SSD (only 256 GB version, but same performance).  Get your hands on a high performance SATA3 SSD and test for yourself, as mileage may vary.

Also, I don't see the point of the 5930k for you.  As long as you find a motherboard with an appropriate PCIe lane split for the 28 lane 5820k you will be getting pretty much the exact same performance, or just go all out and take the 5960x for the extra power.  Since you have $800 left on your budget I wouldn't say it's out of the question!

Well, what if I use the Intel SSD rather than the Samsung SSD's in Raid 0? Same?

Not sure, not rich enough ;)

But from what I could tell, problems were NOT caused by the write speeds of my 850 pro.  Can't tell what was causing the bottlenecks (4790k, not too high utilisation, GTX 970, again, not high utilisation, RAM usage was below 50% etc), so I have simply put it down to either poorly coded software, or the fact that we aren't ready for this stuff yet.  It COULD have been a write speed issue, not sure.  I didn't test it with a RAM disk or anything like that though (only have 16 GB).

I personally don't see much of a point in 144 FPS recording, capture programs often allow framerates of double what you are recording, eg dXtory.  So you could record in 60 FPS and play in 120.  And let's face it, the difference between 120 and 144 is pretty much nothing.
