Hello guys. I'm having some problems with my Wi-fi connection. Recently I updated my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. Even though my Internet connection works fine, sometimes it disconnects unreasonably. I googled about this problem lots of times but didn't come up with a solution. Firstly, I updated my network adapter's driver from Netgear's official website and the problem was resolved for a couple of days. But then it striked again. The device is either disconnecting from the system randomly or gives me limited access to my Wifi. I also opened my device manager and turned off the power saving option that lead to automatic disconnect of the device. I don't know how to solve this. Any help will be highly appreciated!

Network Adapter: Netgear WNA3100 N300

Operating System: Windows 8.1

is it absolutely necessary that you use wifi?

a wired ethernet connection is far better

if you must, maybe install a netter quality PCIe wireless card

Thank you for your reply. An ethernet connection is not viable. I think there's nothing wrong with the hardware but the software. But if necessary, I would like to install a PCIe Wireless card. Will I get the same range/speed with it? Thank you  :)

if you get a good quality one with good reviews you should get the same or better performance with a PCIe wireless card

if youre right and its the software thats causing the problem then theres not much you can do, the drivers are probably not optimized for windows 8.1

the best you can do is use a different wireless card thats not from netgear, or thats a newer version and confirmed working on windows 8.1
