So I just bought a new power supply because my old one has started wearing out on me- the new one here has a "4+4 pin" connector- my motherboard only has a 4 pin input where the Manuel is telling me to insert it. would I be okay putting only one 4 pin connector in?

my mobo is an Intel DH77KC.

Thanks

Yes, the whole point of the 8-pin connector splitting into 4+4 is for motherboards that only take 4-pin power cables :P

Yes it will work, but only one of the 4 pins will fit, they are slightly different.

Both fit and work on my ASrock H97M-ITX/ac. Just sayin'

-snip-

I'm too lazy to take pictures but the 4 pin connector on the ASRock H97M-ITX/ac has the alternating square-rounded-square-rounded pattern of holes. The 4+4 cable that came with the Corsair CX430M has the same pattern on one half, with all rounded protrusions on the other half, which still fits. I guess this is just an exception and most are keyed as per your image.
