First off I do want to say i'm probably in the wrong thread but I've looked everywhere and this was a place to go to get questions answered.
That being said he's some backstory. I've been working on / around computers for years. Im 20 years old and always worked on laptops just because school and convenience. However my new course load in Network Security/Cyber Security Solutions has forced me to build a PC that can run the software (don't have the minimum requirements specs but wanted to go over minimum anyway) all i knew is now was as good a time as any to build my pc.

I finally got everything that I needed via mail (praise be to amazon prime for fast deliveries) and proceeded to build everything. I don't have a HDD/SSD
but wanted to get everything in Bios up and running then install the HDD later (as funds are tight atm)

So I finally finished the build the first time and found the standoffs were abit to close to the case. and would short the mobo and wouldnt turn on. thats fine.

I ended up Breadboarding everything and it turned on, but only for about 10 seconds then would continue to power cycle. it being my first time building
I didn't think to much of it. perhaps the heatsink from the 212 EVO was off so I took it off and carefully reinstalled the cooler. tried it again. it lasts about 30 seconds before power cycling again.  I put everything in the case and I'm impressed however it wont boot to bios. nothing will come up on the monitor. I've tried a Store use only PSU from Best Buy to test the PSU , same thing happened. I'm against a wall here that my classes start September 3rd, only other thing I can think of is that its a bad Mobo that was DOA or the CPU itself. any hints/ suggestions?? can attach a picture of the build if needed. Any help is appreciated!

@KageleTiger  Sub to your damn threads

Well if it doesn't void the warranty go for a Last ditch effort Bios Update.

Run with one stick of ram?

Remove any PCI-e Cards

Run with on-board video

CMOS reset

Blah blah blah the usual stuff....

If that fails then You could probably overnight something and work on the RMA after everything is working

Remove the gpu, try to power it up again with the monitor connected to the motherboard.

If it does the same, check if you connected  wrongly the case cables (power etc) to the the mobo (i had made this mistake once and it would just keep rebooting)

Tried with 1 stick of RAM, didnt change much of anything and when breadboarding i ran with the bare minimum. no GPU, 1 stick of ram, cpu/cooler, PSU. same results. I could try the BiOS upgrade but how would i go about doing that if nothing comes up when i power it on, and its up for 26 seconds before cutting off completely. A side note, all the case fans/cpu fans are running fine. however the fans on the GPU a barely running / not picking up any speed at all. so i tried without GPU like i said. still nothing sadly.

The mobo didnt have a warranty? If it had one, you will still be able to do something, like replacing it.

Do not give up that easy, test everything multiple times, if you have a friend with b85,h81,z87,z97,h97 mobo test the other parts

you got, like the cpu, gpu, psu and the hdd
