I've noted this twice now - is it normal for a voltage spike to occur when a game is booted up or something? I'm pretty sure the card (mine and his) doesn't run @ 1.4V since every time when I hover over the voltage it reads around 1.090 and when I set GPU-Z to max it sometimes, not always reads 1.4V

If you want proper voltage readings buy a digital multimeter

software voltage isn't very good.

But spikes shouldn't be that bug i think.

not sure where GPU-Z gets it's readings from - if from bios shouldn't overvoltage protection kick in on it or the PSU?

GPU OVP (I THINK) is only really for massive voltages. Like 1.6+ if sitting above 'X' degrees.

GPU-Z does give funky readings sometimes.

True enough - I've seen it read 13k volts and 56k amps on some guy so it might be it spazzing out or the motherboard sensor when I boot up a game/benchmark - if it were really that high I'd supposed the GPU would be smoking ashes by now :D - temps didn't seem to change mind you - 63*C core and 61*C VRM1.
