When it comes to gaming, depending on the game, if it's CPU intensive or not, the G3258 is actually on par with even the 5960X believe it or not.

If he really wants a good budget PC he should consider the G3258 over the i5 4460 to save up on some money for a better GPU and then he can get the 4690K as an Upgrade, and then bam you got a beast PC.

Also make sure he over clocks the G2358 to the max with a good cooler maybe the hyper 212 Evo?

Are you fucking insane? You'd pick a G3258 over a 4460?

Read my last post.

It depends on the power supply and the ambient temp of the room, if your room is hot and how a low wattage PSU go with the 750 Ti generally, not sure about the 270X but try looking a up benchmarks

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/271139-intel-core-i7-5960x-vs-pentium-g3258/

Watch this then, the pentium is made so people upgrade it later down the line with a different CPU, but to get the most out of it you must overclock it, also some games don't run on dual cores but with a budget pc build I don't think he'll have a lot of AAA title games that might not run.

That's only on games that don't take advantage of more than 2 cores.

Exactly, and for a budget build he won't be playing on really demanding games, until he gets the chance to upgrade!
