I did that early, so far no BSODs today.

Ok, make sure to reply back if an BSOD does occur. Or start an new topic and mention me in that thread using "@ionbasa" without the quotes.

@ionbasa

The computer was fine up until tonight. It started randomly just restarting, there's no event viewer or dump files.

What's your system specs? CPU/MOBO/GPU/PSU?

I hope your PSU isn't under specced for your build. Was it restarting while running intensive CPU and/or GPU applications (ie: Games, CAD, rendering)?

Nothing is overclocked.

i4670k

GTX 780

MSI Z87 G43 Gaming

16GB RAM

1TB HD

240gb SSD

750w PSU

The PSU is about 8 months old, and the computer restarted twice whilst playing battlefield 4 and once while just browsing the web with about 5 tabs open. I've ran prime95 and furmark recently, and everything seemed fine with 15 minute tests, I can try to do it again.

What brand PSU is it?

Also, was it a hard reset; as in the  screen turned black and then you went through the POST sequence, OR was it a soft restart ( You actually see the WIndows' logging off/restarting screen)?

Corsair.

Hard reset, the computer came back on REALLY fast though. Faster than a normal reboot or boot.

I'm not even entirely sure the computer turns off, I can't recall 100% but the lights in the computer may have still be on, the monitors went to stand by for a second before turning back on.

Are you sure it was a reset, and not just the GPU drivers crashing? When GPU drivers crash they blank out the monitor and then redisplay after a few seconds.

I sent you a PM.

Also update, played bf4 for about 30 minutes and computer restarted, but more happened.

I instantly tried to run a GPU Stress Test after computer booted, all the monitors went black but the computer was still on. I had to hard reset it via power button but then none of the fans turned on, the motherboard lights and cpu cooler lights were on but no fans and the computer shouldn't boot only post. I had to turn off the computer and unplug/replug the motherboards power cord for it to turn back on. This happened once before if you recall.

I'm downloading OCCT now to try again.

Mind Running OCCT and furmark at the same time. It seems as if this is either a heat issue, or a power issue. Watch temps while benchmarking, especially on the GPU. If an component overheats, it may not allow the motherboard to POST.

I was already running OCCT. I'm running both now currently at 73 C and 74 C, perhaps still SLOWLY rising.

I'm  10 minutes into using OCCT and 3 minutes into using FurMark.

EDIT: It's slowly rising now @ 76 C. (7:11 PM PST)

EDIT: Seeming somewhat stable @ 75 C and 76 C. 6 minutes in using FurMark. (7:13 PM PST)

Here's results from OCCT after 15 minutes: http://imgur.com/a/Yuos5

How long should I run this and should I run OCCT again? FurMark is currently running solo, sitting between  75 C and 76 C.

EDIT: I currently have a livestream open from Twitch.tv and whenever I'm clicked onto the FurMark window the stream becomes EXTREMELY laggy video wise but not audio. Same goes for youtube videos, just tested it.

EDIT: When I play battlefield 4 I believe I don't even pass 65 C at max settings. Not to mention the computer has reset while just browsing the web, so I'm not sure if it's a heat issue or not. OCCT has a power supply stress test is that safe to try?

EDIT: With OCCT running with FurMark it sits at 77 C.

Temps seem extremely reasonable. When was the last time you updated your GPU drivers?

If you can, I'd recommend a repair install to rule out Windows' being the cause of issue: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html

You'l keep all programs and documents. Settings will be reset, but this will ensure that Windows files aren't corrupt.

It'll preserve all my downloaded files and applications. Such as chrome, steam, etc?

Also will this have any effect on my Windows 10 losing activation? I'm on Windows 10 already.

I'm setting up Windows 10 now, downloading updates.

I have GeForce Experience uninstalled because another user here and I thought it might be a cause to  some of the BSODs. The latest driver I have is from July 29th the newest one is from August 13th.

Done with the window repair, updated to the newest video driver as well.

Going to try playing some battlefield 4.

EDIT: 30 minutes in, so far so good. Running at roughly 70 C at Ultra settings.

Ok, keep me posted. It may have just been a problematic WIndows' install causing issues.

Ok well I BSOD while watching a live stream.

Grabbing info now to upload it for you.

Here's the dump and other info: https://mega.nz/#!0lEUhZ4K!ko3KnpX27plhrK7BG_Xww0sYpvTmdJIJ2cZ-TXWv_Cg

Bluescreenview and WhoCrashed couldn't pick up any crash but when it blue screened I believe it said page_fault_in_nonpaged_area which is a bsod I've gotten before.

Also everytime I boot up event viewer shows these warnings. Maybe they are tied into it?: https://mega.nz/#!llMFyY5a!OJFOFJPFmcqt0icfSm7-3_XNQ6OcvHnJa9N0nh-vwnI

I'm away from home at the moment, so I probably won't be able to take a look at these at least for another 5 hours.

Some questions: Do you use Windows Media Center at all? Looking through the Event Viewer, it seems that WMC is misconfigured and throwing errors

Also, it seems that an USB drive (Flash drive or HDD) failed to load properly, this was just a timeout and nothing serious.

I see that a network component failed to load. You do have all your drivers installed?

In device manager, are there any devices that have a yellow triangle and exclamation point like so:

84813d1278959739-driver-install-device-m

Also, it seems that "iaStorA.sys" caused the crash, do you have the Intel Rapid Storage driver installed? I know I asked you to update/repair the driver earlier on, but it seems that the Intel RST driver is actually unstable at the moment. You should be able to uninstall it and let Windows' use the its own SATA drivers. Since you're not using RAID or SSD caching, it shouldn't matter. After looking up the issue further on both Intel and Microsoft support forums, it seems that the iaStorA.sys driver may crash on Windows 10 due to stability/compatibility issues.

First start by uninstalling the Intel RST program from the controll Pannel -> Programs and Features, then follow the instructions here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_7-hardware/uninstalling-the-intelr-rapid-storage-technology/e3c4b6d6-56ba-4ac5-be50-89843c9d9b22

If you run into any issues, please let me know and I may be able to guide you through it.

I've never used WMC from my understanding, I'm not even entirely sure what it is. These warnings have been showing up on boot of the computer for a VERY long time, they just don't go away. I thought they were natural at first but at second thought, not so much.

In device manager I don't have an 'Other Devices' tab but checking through each drop down there aren't any yellow triangles. I do have my updated motherboard ethernet drivers installed, Killer e2020 I believe.

Uninstalling Intel Rapid Storage Technology now to see if that helps fix the crashes. I've gotten that crash, iaStorA.sys before.

Yup. It's most likely the Intel driver. Let me know what happens after using the normal Windows' SATA drivers.

Computer just restarted but it did a bugcheck. I'll get you the information now, I was just using google chrome with about 8 tabs.

Youtube, twitch, wikipedia, linustechtips, and battlefrield battlelog.

Here's the minidump, event viewer, and perfmon report: https://mega.nz/#!kwlhyQhK!OI1lblhHqumnuUdAUJDO6LjnBZSj5-Xac0CCVZmK25w

On Fri 8/28/2015 9:59:42 AM GMT your computer crashed

crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\082815-12734-01.dmp

This was probably caused by the following module: watchdog.sys (watchdog+0x3C3D)

Bugcheck code: 0x10E (0x2E, 0xFFFFC00014293280, 0xFFFFC0002C489010, 0xFFFFD0002039C5C0)

Error: VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL

file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\watchdog.sys

product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System

company: Microsoft Corporation

description: Watchdog Driver

Bug check description: This indicates that the video memory manager has encountered a condition that it is unable to recover from.

The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time.

I've gotten this crash before just like the previous one we've solved. Or at least hope we've solved.

Edit: Computer rebooted again after about 5 minutes playing BF4 while watching a youtube video. There is no bugcheck or dump file this time.

Edit: Talking to someone about it in a live chat. They said to uninstall Windows 10 and that it is buggy with video drivers. I don't have the option to revert back to an older Windows anymore.. But there must be another way to address this.

crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\082815-12734-01.dmp

Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove the driver you have for your GPU: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

and then try to re-install the latest driver from the Nvidia website. Did you upgrade from a previous Windows install of clean Install Win 10?

I went from Windows 7 to Windows 10 via USB boot which made it a clean install.

Activation got messed up so I put Windows 7 on a USB and reinstalled Windows 7, activated it then used the Windows 10 little toolbar popup to install cleanly to Windows 10 again.

Then I did the repair you asked me to do.

I'll try using DDU when I wake up. I installed a hotfix nvidia driver a couple hours ago that had to do with fixing some memory issues with the graphics cards, so maybe that could fix it. Either way I'll use DDU when I'm up.
