Hello guys,

Well when i made my pc i bought CM nepton 240m and after 2 months of use the pump died so i RMA'd the unit and got a replacement and guess what after 2 weeks (this time) of use the pump died again.

Both times this happend to me,i had the pc open for like 2-4 days and after i shut it down, the next day when i tried to power it up the watercooler was dead.

CPU:i7 4790k

Mobo:Asus Maximus VII hero

I really dont want to rma this one again and get a replacement and have the same thing happen once again.

I am using AI suite fan tuning to setup my pc fans just wondering if that is causing the issue.

If someone has any input on the matter please help or advice me on what i should do from now on.

Thanks in advance.

I have a h100i and I personally don't mess around with any of the speed controls of my pump, I let it do it's thing, I only mess with the fans.

Never mess with pump speeds imo...

same as above, I wouldn't mess with pump speed. Set it to run at its speed and leave it be. 99.87% of AIO problems are with the pump, so don't mess around with it. It doesn't need to go any faster or slower than it is set to run.

One of the reasons I prefer a normal air-cooled setup over an AIO. I can understand why people really like the AIO's, but they are not for me. :c

I would just stick all of the fan profiles to stock and keep it as is. Best of luck with getting your cooler sorted out.

Do not buy CM Liquid Coolers, unless it is the Seidon or Glacer.

emmm, the Glacer was a disaster...the pumps had a tendency to...catch on fire...ironic

So don't buy the Fury X?...

I don't think the pump would die if you change the speed of it.

Most people, including me, plug the pump into the CPU_FAN header. Depending on the CPU temperatures it will adjust its speed by itself.

It doesn't matter from where the input comes.

I wonder why this did happen to you twice in around the same timeframe.

I would like to know how exactly you connected the pump.

Hello guys,

This is not technical advice, but if you can get a refund, get it. Not because the Nepton 240M is particularly bad, not because it is more likely that the third unit will fail as well, simply because it failed YOU twice. We are all human, and if someone told you the Nepton 240M is an excellent cooler right now my guess is you wouldn't take it kindly, and i say that because if a product fails me once, i never trust it again, so having it failed twice means you won't have peace of mind and that fucking cooler will cause constant worries. I say refound if possible, if not, RMA it and sell it, and get a different cooler. We can only stand so much before we lose trust and you have every right to not want another Nepton 240M in your rig. If the retailer you bought it from can give you store credit (THE LEAST THEY CAN DO) get a different cooler, maybe even a heatsink, if it was me, i would not be able to own another one and not think constantly that my PC is gonna fail.

Would you be able to have a third cooler on your rig having the previous two failed on you? I would go insane with paranoia

I would even go as far and say I would RMA that thing 10 times, because it's a AIO from Cooler Master.

Those guys usually know what they're doing. I think he simply had some serious bad luck.

Pump is connected on the cpu fan header and on the AI suite software there is no pump speed so i would say that the sofwater does make any changes on the pump speed but after all the pump is supposed to run 100% all the time and only the fans of the radiator should change depending the on cpu temp.

What i would like to figure out is why did this happen to me TWICE!!

The Glacier was made by Alphacool. Which in turn used the DC-LT pump from Eheim. Fractal Design Kevin S24 uses the same pump of a slower version. Good luck to Fractal Design.

I had two bad Corsair H90 in a row too.  Just bad luck.
