Im trying to do a clean re-install of win8 pro. But when I get the the drive/partition selection. It says that the drive I want to load win8 to is mbr and must be gpt. Will it become gpt when I delete the partition? Do I have to convert it? what?

You re installing over windows 8 or did you have an older os or linux distro for that partition?  I believe it will be GPT when you re-install since that is the more modern partition table.

I am currently runnign windows 8 pro. I want to reinstall it. But the os disc is  saying the I cant install windows 8 pro to my ssd boot drive because of being mbr and not gpt. Im asking if the boot drive ssd will become gpt after the partions of the boot drive are deleted. I hope you understood that better.

I do not see a reason that it would not automatically make it what it needs when you start from scratch.  Did you back your stuff up?

I have nothing worth to backup.

So what are you saying about not understanding that it will not automtically making it the correct format?

Well in that case deleting the partition and re installing it should fix your problem hopefully =P

I was saying that it should make it the correct format.

What are the chances that it doesnt make it the correct format? And if it doesnt, how do I convert it?

Well I guess you can try this and then re install http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/26193-convert-mbr-disk-gpt-disk.html

Windows should take care of all of this for you when you delete the partition and re install.

I didnt say this eailer cause I thought someone might think Im a dumbass... But I might aswell say it now... The whole reason I wanted to reinstall windows is because On sunday, I replaced my cat5 cable with a cat6 cable, My internet sped got faster. Then my computer started getting light black screens for a few seconds between os loading and lockscreen. Everytime I booted to my desktop, a message kept showing up saying .net framework 3.5 corrupted. Finally it got to the point 1-2 days later where when I booted up my system. It forced my to fix the problem. I chose refresh pc. Now my cat6 ethernet internet is slower. I was told that reinstalling windows 8 can possible fix it. That is the whole reason for reinstalling the os...

So what is your computer doing now when you boot into it?  You connecting to the internet or with other products in your house, like another comp or something?

If I am not mistaken your ethernet cable should not do anything to your os.  You could possible dl the driver for your ethernet and also update your .net framework http://www.microsoft.com/net/downloads

Are you positive that your internet is slower?

1. yes I am positive, was 5-5.5mb, now 1-.05mb.

2. It boots regularly, like it should.

3. I did download the driver. It fails to extract the download when finished downloading.

4. I tried updating .net 3.5, I can download it, but when I double click on it. Nothing EVER happens.

5. My .net 4 is already updated.

6. Im connecting to my internet through my main gaming rig via CAT6 ethernet to intel gigabit port.

If required, I could use help on the problems on this list. If it will help with the problem.
