If you just want to strip the audio from a video file you could use HandBrake:

Download and install HandBrake and open your video (click source and locate your video). You can then go to the audio tab and remove any existing audio tracks. After you render this video it will be without any audio.

 

VLC will also do this, but it's a little more complex. Both of these will render the whole video out which could take a long time depending on your CPU and the size of the video (length, resolution and framerate).
