Hello,

I have a 2x4gb kit in my system and i have another 2 slots available. If I added a 2x8gb kit would that be ok?

They are from the same brand and model just different sizes.

what I have:

HyperX Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model HX316C10FBK2/8

what I want to add:

HyperX Fury Red Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model HX316C10FRK2/16

Is there any possible issues that I could run into from doing this?

Thanks.

It's the exact same ram, different color heat spreader. Should have no problem.

You should be fine. How ever if the speeds were different the higher speed ram would down clock to the speed of the lower speed kit.

I'm running 6 gbs of DDR2 right now (2x2, 1x2) and I have had no issue running it for a few years.  Both are the same speed and have the same timings.  One is Kingston and the other is Mushkin.

You should be able to mix RAM and it will default.  I like to have both the same speed/latencies.
