So I'm building my own system and I'm able to buy everything besides my graphics card ( 780 DCUII to be exact ). What games would I be able to run using the on-board graphics. I know that I won't be able to run BF3 and GTA 4 off the on-board graphics. Will Minecraft be able to run off the HD 5000 graphics? Until I get my 780 ( most likely for Christmas ) I'll be playing on an Xbox One, so that's why I'm asking if Minecraft will run off on-board graphics.

The Specs:

Intel 4670k

H100i ( have )

900d ( have )

Maximus VI Formula or MSI GD65

860w Corsair PSU

Adata XPG V2 1600 MHz ( going to overclock )

840 pro ssd ( have )

1tb hard drive

Windows 8 ( have )

780 DCUII ( eventually )

Minecraft will run fine, you might be able to run some older games, maybe source engine games with turned down graphics. Not much else really.

Your going to purchase a console instead of a graphics card for your PC?   :(

Yes Minecraft should run fine since it isn't very demanding.

You would easily be able to play minecraft and possibly even bf3 on low settings at around 30 fps.

It would not be a very nice experience, he would be better off playing it on his xbone.

I'm sort of a console/ Xbox fanboy and I like a lot of the launch titles so that's why I'm buying the One before the graphics card.

I don't care about the Kinect requirement and the whole NSA spying program ( sort of ).

I had mine pre ordered but then I canceled it not because of all the DRM stuff. But because I wanted to wait and see if they will be releasing a Halo special edition one or a Gears of war special edition Xbox.

Dude if you have the budget to get the Maximus VI Formula over the GD65 do it *if you're not bothered spending that much on a board*
