Im curious to as how much I could get if I sold this system, I estimated around $900-$1000. I would take that money and throw some more into it and purchase a mobile gaming laptop. Id still keep my monitor, keyboard and mouse and use the laptop essentially as the desktop and have it serve as a second monitor on my desk. That way I have the experience of a desktop but when I need it to be mobile it can be. Yet is it worth it? Id probably be getting a laptop with a 970M and some sort of i7, which in my mind is a downgrade. The 760 out performs the 970M, but just barely. While the overclocked i5 is on par with an i7. Getting the 980M would be preferred as it is better than the 760 by far. So would it be worth essentially downgrading slightly to get a mobile experience? Should I do it and if so, what laptop would be good? I found the GIGABYTE P35Xv3-CF5 (link below) but thats about it. My budget would be at max $1,700 with no wiggle room. Would it be worth the compromise to go mobile and if so what laptop would you recommend?

*Edit - I will be going to college in the next few weeks and need a laptop for that. So going mobile would kill two birds with one stone by getting a laptop for college and going mobile. Because now I am on the move alot.

Unless you really need the portability a desktop PC will always be the better option.

If you really want a decent laptop with good performance, good asthetics and upgradability you should check out Clevo, Sager, Metabox (More or less the same brands)

They are pretty much custom laptops which arent going to break your wallet.

You can find a good selection of them here: https://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-clevo-sager-notebooks-ct-95_51_162.html

Be sure to select one and check out how much you can customize ;)

For that money you might aswell get a 980Ti and a new monitor...

I suggest either finding some good Android games out there, or getting a cheaper laptop and playing old games while on the move. There are a lot of games out there from before 2010 that all run maxed out on even the crappiest laptop.

Open your eyes and break your chains. Console peasantry is just a state of mind.

I've owned a ROG G-75, worked well but it's heavy.

Unless you are on the move A LOT and absolutely have to game on the move...just stick with the desktop and upgrade it in my opinion.
