Hello forum.

I'll try to make this clear and detailed while being quick.

I built a computer for my girlfriends brother, so I provided the case, CPU cooler, hard drive, motherboard, and SSD.

Girlfriend bought PSU, Windows 10, CPU (from the classifieds in this forum), R9 380, RAM, and CD drive.

When I tried installing windows 10, it shows the logo then the computer decides to turn off the peripherals and enters a weird sleep state where it's on but not enough to power anything else. I tried leaving just the drive to install to, yet to no avail.

It originally boots just fine, but when it gets to the windows logo, it hangs for a while then decides to power everything else besides the components.

I'll answer any questions if I need clarify. Thanks guys!

EDIT:

CPU: g3258

Mobo: MSI z87 g45

Samsung evo 120gb SSD 840

Western Digital 500gb blue caviar

Evga 600w

Corsair hydro h100i

Kingston hyperX 8gb

Corsair 760T

Umm...  What motherboard are you using?

I tried going through the installation without the GPU, but same results

Can you give me more details about what's going on?  Maybe a video?

Im such an idiot, Why didn't I put the phone horizontally -_- That is why I am not a camera man

Can you try the installation through a USB device instead of a DVD?  DVD's are known to loose their data integrity easily.

That sounds like a plan, if you need help on creating a USB version of the install media, just see the link in my signature.

UPDATE: I tried using USB boot but it still does the same thing. I am suspecting it as a hardware problem now. Both DVD and USB doesn't go through.

this is generally a weird predicament. I'm not so sure it is a hardware failure. Try installing s version of Linux just to be sure.

That is what I was thinking as well.. I have no way of testing which part is faulty. I know it isn't the GPU since I physically took it out and tried that way. I'll see if there is a shop I can use.

keep me updated. Let me know when you try a Linux install media. Ubuntu would probably be the best distro as it is more automated.
