I wonder, how do you guys control your fans?

I dont really like the bay controllers, but i would more likely want to use a controller who controls the fan speed itself.

Any suggestions? i would like to hear what you use too :)

Just because you don't care, doesn't mean other others don't. Don't be a self-centered asshole. -Thank You a PSA from the people who do not say random shit on the internet.

Speedfan atm. I've had hardware controllers but since I ended up using them to only lower speeds...

Umm. speedfan does not control it automatically?

otherwise, speedfan accually works great :) thanks! :)

I personally like to use the motherboard's fan control software from Asus, works great for temperature controlled fan curves.

If you were say looking for a hardware solution for that Corsair Commander Mini can do that also.

Depends on how crazy you want to get. On my workstation I use a hardware controller with knobs and an RPM readout so I can dial things into what I want.

My home server uses the Asus UEFI control.

My next workstation will likely be cooled with a custom loop and I will likely end up getting an Aqua Computer Aquaero to control pump/fan speeds. It just really depends on how much control you want over it and what your budget is.

Well, ive been looking on YouTube alot, and trying to figure out what people use. I really like singularity computers, and hw just use a 4pin molex to 4pin pwm. What does That do? :-)

Motherboard fan control will let you base temps on sensors around the board which is nice and for singularity if it's just a straight molex connection it will basically run at the set voltage of the pinned molex plug and won't let you control them.

Well okay, i might start digging into speedfan, it might accually work. Does it base fan speed on the load on the cpu?

I believe speed fan is also temperature based where it takes it's readings from the motherboard, very similar to the motherboard's control software but an alternative.

Ok, well, my motherboard does not regulate the fan speed on dc fans, only pwm, but I can change a little on the fans, I can choose silent, normal and max speed for dc fans, pwm is another thing :-)

Almost all boards if they can do PWM on all the headers can do DC voltage control check in the BIOS usually there is an option to select the control type on each header of the motherboard.

Anything plugged in like that will spin at 100% all the time with no control.

Actually singularity very rarely uses this. Typically, and he talks about this on a lot of his videos, he likes to use the MoBo's built in controller and he often uses ModMyToy's power distribution PCB's in conjunction with that to control the amount of fans he needs to.

He has occasionally used an AquaComputer too.
