I want a computer that is the "a lower alternative from the best" but is still up to date

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooling: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard: N/A (DDR3 OR HIGHER)

Video Card: N/A (Nvidia Geforce GTX x1)

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive & Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Power Supply: N/A

Case: Corsair 450D ATX Mid Tower Case

Memory: N/A (2 Sticks Minimum) (8GB Minimum)

x2 5.25 Bays: NZXT APERTURE M 5.25 Bay Multi-Media Mesh Style Card Reader w. Dual USB 3.0 & (All in One Optical Drive)

I going for blue and yellow but it doesn't have to be those colors. (     ) means recommended.

Under $2000 Total not including tax and/or shipping

I causally game, video render/edit and graphic design.

Must not be too expensive.

would help if you told us your max budget, location and uses.

"must not be too expensive" that doesn't tell us anything about your max price. could be $200 could be $5000

M9 DDR2 is obsolete, do you mean DDR3?

Also use PCPartPicker please.

Oh and what's your budget. Can you afford a 980 Ti/R9 Fury or can you only afford a 980/R9 390X or 970/R9 390/R9 380 and can afford two 500GB SSDs or only one 250GB SSD?

Use PCPartpicker to start. Website has compatibility checkers that'll help.

I think he thinks that the 5820K is significantly better (it's not in most cases (specifically gaming, games still only benefit from higher single core performance actually if I recall correctly a CPU intensive game like WoW doesn't even benefit from better multi-core)) however multi-threaded a 5820K might make a 4790K weep (at least according to a couple geekbench results and passmark.)
