I guess this has been a problem since Windows 8.1 but I am still using 7.

I'm considering upgrading to 10 and am wondering what to do with my User folder seeing as how I won't be able to move it off my C drive.

How do you manage having a smaller SSD boot drive and large storage HDD?

Is it just a matter of creating folders on the HDD and manually managing my files?

Well that is what I do. But perhaps there are better ways to do it. We can all learn something, I kinda interested in the responses other than mine.

You can change the save location of games and such to the HDD including remapping some folders such as downloads, my documents to be defaulted onto the HDD instead of the SSD so it doesn't fill up. The obvious things are photos and moves and such should be on the HDD instead to not take up space.

Does this work on Windows 10?

Not from what I saw. I'll double check, but from memory the location screen is no longer present, so your would need to use GPOs to configure folder re-direction.

But they may have just moved the setting location.

I don't think they changed that feature it's capable of selecting location options on my laptop with Windows 10.

No, Windows Aero does not work on Windows 10

The folders still do though...
