Need Help - $500 or lower Build

Go to solution Solved by Benjio,

Get an APU and a cheap SSD.

Go for an A8-6600K.  I think you can get one for as cheap as $100 online now.  I know I saw one in TigerDirect today for $104, but that would have tax on top of it.  Just make sure you get fast RAM to feed the graphics memory.

Well, idk which motherboards support the new Richland APUs right off the bat.

Something like this maybe: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1oLKD

Edit: also keep mind that its like $585 before all the rebates...

Dang, im not sure if I will even do the rebates. Is there an option for non rebate pricing on pcpartpicker?

If I were you I would try to save up another $50 or so to be able to afford the 7850, otherwise you'll have to start cutting back on things that you probably shouldn't be cutting back on. That's just my opinion though.

I have a old HDD that 100gb in my old pc. I didnt use all of it so would it be viable to buy a cheap ssd and keep the hdd for extra storage?

As long as you don't need it for your computer, and its SATA it should work. Also I've been thinking if you're not using a APU you should probably switch Am3+ Mobo/cpu, like a fx 4300 or something.

Well it will be very easy, all you have to do it hit the button.. =p You probably won't be able to get the most out of it by using that, I think it only does a small overclock. Also if you're just using the stock heatsink, I wouldn't recommend it.

What is the cheapest low profile cpu cooler I can get?

This will be beast and leave APU in the dust, you can overclock the processor well with this mobo and cooler. 4GB ram included, can upgrade processor to FX later down the road, can upgrade RAM, can add SSD altho it's not really needed at this budget etc.

Very flexible for your needs.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

CPU: Phenom II x6 1045t ][ GPU: GeForce 9600GT 512mb DDR3 ][ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ][ RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1333MHz CL9 DDR3 ][ HDD: Western Digital Green 2TB ][ PSU: Chieftec 500AB A ][ Case: No-name without airflow or dust filters Budget saved for an upgrade so far: 2400PLN (600€) - Initial 2800PLN (700€) Upgraded already: CPU

You didn't include a psu.
