Okay so I'm really into the deep thumping bass that people have in their cars and I'm interested in getting a subwoofer system and then getting tweeters later on once I can afford those as well. As far as I know I'm gonna need to replace the speakers, replace the stereo and put in an aftermarket stereo, I'll need a sub and an enclosure, I'm thinking a 12", an amplifier, and an equalizer. The only thing I need to know is how much money am I looking at to get all of this and have a decent setup?

If you really want a decent setup using brand new components, you'll be putting at least $400-500 into it. I've spent about $500 CAD so far on my car audio setup, and there's still some more it could use.

My friend put a really nice system in his crown vic consisting on two 12 inch subs, four new speakers, and a wicked powerful amp. Together with the wiring kit and the box for the subs it was running him about $350. I'll tell you though, it's sick. Whenever he turns on his car I can feel it in my lungs and I live about a quarter mile away.

I know that the subs and the head unit were both made by Pioneer, as for the amp originally he had a 1500w Boss, but he has since upgraded that. Not quite sure about the speakers though, sorry. I do know that he bought the subs and head unit together around Black Friday though, the subs were originally around $100 and he got them for about $40, a really good steal if you ask me.

I am a car audio installer and any aftermarket headunit will have advanced eq go with something by pioneer it will be inexpensive and will be a good head unit for amp, sub, tweeters, and door speakers go with alpine or pioneer altogether you will probably spend about 700-1000 dollars.
