Hey guys!

A little background about me and what I am going to be using my new rig for. I am a 24 and a full time financial consultant. I work M-F 9am-9pm. Every weeknight I come home and play 2-3 games of League of Legends to unwind before bed. That 1.5-2.5 hours a night is my stress relief. League is the ONLY cpu game I play. I recently got a modest pay bump and can now afford a Samsung U28D590D. All I want to do is play LOL at 4k.

Now I watched the 4k affordable gaming build, That build was set around a R9285 which got him MINIMUMS of 74 fps.

Obviously the display can only go 60hz so anything over 60fps mins is just wasted power.

That means a r9 285 is my upper limit in terms of what to buy. My question is what is the LOWER limit to run LOL 4k at very high settings?

Now I have done some research and according to logicalincrements, to run LOL at 4k you need anything from a r7250x to a gtx750 to a r7360.

If I am looking at those gpus then wouldnt an AMD A10 7870k APU have the graphic horsepower to run LOL at 4k over displayport?

Long story short is r7 250x < gtx 750 < r7 360 << R9 285

where does the a10 7870k go in that order of graphics cards?

if the a10 is better than even the r7250x than I can just go that route.

Now the reason I am asking this whole question is rather straight forward.

I know a pentium g3258 with a h97 or z97 mobo is about 120 now at microcenter I can grab a a10 7870k with a mobo for 130.

Essentially do I need a 80-140 dedicated gpu to run LOL at 4k?

If I need a dedicated gpu I might go the pentium route, if I dont then I will just snag the a10 7870k bundle. Hell I might get the a10 anyway with the dedicated gpu

THanks again for the help!

~Keith
