Hello,

I used some old parts to build an htpc that also works as a client for steam streaming. I have two gpus available but I don't know which one to use. I have a hd5570 and a gtx 660. Will using the gtx660 for streaming or media playing provide any advantage over the weaker 5570?

Also should i use hardware encoding or software encoding?

Client specs:

i5 650

h57h am2

500 psu

1tb hdd

6 gb ram

Host specs:

I7 3770k

P8z77m pro

Gtx 980ti

Ax 860i

16gb ram

120gb ssd 3tb hdd

Thank you for all your answers.

the htcp doesn't even need a gpu. you can just use the integrated one.

there's almost no load on the htcp its just a decoder.

but the gtx 660 is the better of the two
