@Oktyabr

solved it, using windows media player to rip :)

I didn't think WMP even supported FLAC?!

In Foobar 2000 you will notice you can change your CD lookup database too.  If one doesn't work I'd try another.

It's lossless 1.4mpbs quality, comes with booklet and cover art, lasts a long time. Some music can't be obtained in any other way, especially at high quality.

Still, the best cover art is on records.

So big....

that's why I have a few boston record albums hanging on my wall

Its a very sad day when someone thinks mp3's are better then cd's. Damn you Apple  <_<

Yeah I was pretty sure that was not true...

because we got mp3's from our cd's.

and that's just stupid.

I was asking the people if mp3 was better than cd or the same.

I knew it wasn't worse.

but others didn't seem too...

If you can't hear the difference between flac and mp3, you won't hear a difference between Wav and mp3. If anything, re rip your stuff into 320kbps mp3, but if you don't have issues with clipping, you're probably just fine the way it is now.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)

Yeah, I mean, I rip all of my stuff in Wav, but I have plenty of space and I'd rather have Wav if I'm ever going to try mixing or doing anything with music.

Flac is a codec that has compression, but it's not anything that will ever be audible. (it stands for free lossless audio codec) so it's lossless in terms of fidelity, but it's still slightly compressed. Wav is an entirely uncompressed copy of everything on the cd. Practically, there is no difference, other than larger files for Wav.

Yes.

At least I have mp3 of that disk already.

I just have no idea where it could be if its not in the case...

so wav vs flac whats the difference?

None, in sound quality.  FLAC, because they are compressed, take up less room than raw WAVs and have the added benefit of a header capable of storing things like id3 tags, even cover art.  But you can do the reverse with FLAC as well...  burn an *audio* CD from FLAC and it will make a perfect copy of the original CD.
