GPU Problem?

Go to solution Solved by byalexandr,

Unfortunately now I can't get past the log in screen without this error occuring, is it most likely a GPU problem?

Do you still have the old GPU? Try using that one with the new one still in the system.

Today I upgraded the RAM and GPU in my PC, going from my GTX 660 to the GTX 970. The pc was fine for about 40 mins and then whilst in CS:GO the monitor showed a black screen then a screen with lots of boxes like the image (http://imgur.com/s3JICY8). I restarted the pc and then this became a reoccuring thing, where after two mins in any game I would get these freezes.

One thing is that the PC appears to still run during the screen messing up as I can still hear my friends on TeamSpeak and they can hear me.

I assume this is a GPU problem and I need to send it back, but I was looking for confirmation from someone who knows better than me.

Thanks

Slippy

ok :)

I have now tried:

Disabling X.M.P which didn't solve the problem

Removing one stick of RAM leaving only one in which didn't solve the problem.

And going back to my old RAM which is working in my other PC, this also didn't solve the problem.

I'm pretty sure that this is a GPU problem now as I don't think it is RAM after those tests.

yeah i think it is the GPU. try putting it into a pc that you know that works and test it. if it works it works and there is something with the PC. if it doesn't it is the GPU.

I was going to swap the old GPU back into my pc in the morning as I know it is working. If the problem is solved then I will know it is the GPU and just send it back. I will post an update here then. Thanks for the help.
