Best gpu for htpc

if u are not going to be gaming but just watching movies and browsing i would just put that radeon 5570 in to it. and save the 660 and 970 for something else.

Hello,

I had some old pc parts laying around and I decided to build an htpc. I actually have 3 gpus but i dont know which one to use.I have a radeon hd5570, a gtx 660 and a gtx 970.(I used to have two gtx 970s in sli but one of them shorted and I bought a 980ti instead.) Is there any benefit to use a more powerful card like the 660 or 970? I won't be gaming on this rig.

Pc specs:

I5 650 cpu

Gateway oem mobo

500w psu

1tb hdd

Gateway oem case

No benefit from using a more powerful GPU, you'll bottleneck the card

probably the 5570

or w/e card runs quieter and cooler

I'd just use the 5570.

For movies only use the weakest card

For games use the 970, if power connectors constrict, use the 660
