I'm having a problem with my pc, a few days ago began to restart itself.
I check the temperature and my CPU i74790 is at 85ª-90ª-100º (I tried it with the Battlefield 4. that gave me all the graphics to a minimum)
beforeplayed Witcher 3 and GTA V all max up and never had a problem.
Even with de World of Warcraft not that many time but still is restartin alone.
It can be something from the power supply?
The voltages in the cpu?
Something went crazy?


Please help me guys

Download HWMoniter from CPUID and have a look with a more detailed monitoring program so you can gives us a bit more info. Like are all the cores going up or is one higher then the rest. Also the VID stat will be your CPU core volts

Well it's clear what your problem is.

Your vcore(VID) is set to offset the voltages, hence why you have lows when idle, mids at standard, then your voltages jump nearly .1 under load. Considering for some people going over 1.3vs causes their temperatures to spike, it's a no brainer as to why your having issues. Some peoples chips can go higher vaults, still staying under 80, some people can't, It's why delidding started to become popular. Intel aside from the 5960x no longer solder their IHS to the die and use shitty tim, so you get poor contact between the die and the ihs, inevitably leaving poor contact to your cooler.

If you're using an air cooler, even more of a problem.

Go into your bios and set your vcore to manual, then enter your stock vcore voltage. Should then stop your CPU drawing more power than it needs under load. 

Essentially go into your bios, set everything to factory default. Look for your cpu controls, set the vcore to manual and input the number which should already be there, most likely to the side of the input box. Which for you it seems is 1.19v, Also disable c-states and if you have speedstep disable that. Stops your cpu from clocking down when idle.

1.19. It should say in the bios once you've set back to the defaults what the stock voltage your cpu is running at. I'm guessing it's around 1.19, but it will say. Take note and change it to manual, then input it in. There should be an option for offset and manual. What motherboard are you using?

What cooler and thermal paste are you running as well, are those temps and cpu usage only under heavy gaming or other tasks as well. As @PDArm says your volts are really high for a 4.4ghz overclock, you'd expect those volts if you were running at 4.8ghz

Not 100% sure with gigabytes bios.

Essentially you want set your bios to default settings.(try F5)

I think with gigabyte it's Voltage > CPU core voltage control > then you'll see the control panel.

3rd down it'll say CPU Vcore. It will tell you what the stock voltage is for your cpu. So set it from auto, to manual. You may have to input again, your stock voltage.

Then find where the settings are for intel speedstep and turn them off. I'm not sure where it will be located for gigabyte.

The 4790k are also soldered on that was the only real difference between them and the 4770k apart from the clock and boost clock

No, only the 5690x has a soldered ihs unfortunately. The 4790k uses tim, people delid them all the time. Even skylake isn't soldered. Would have thought intel would stop cutting corners.

i have never tocuh the volts, is there is a posibility that it change alone ?  like i say i was playing just fine until a few days ago.

And at how many volts should i put it.... i dont have many exp in that area

I still don't know...what cooler do you have? Are you using the stock cooler? Sometimes the bios changes voltage settings, or when you run stock it actually runs higher than it you had set it to a fixed voltage.

well thats auto voltage for ya when the cpu is having a bad day it like comfort  food and its comfort  food is voltage...

IM USING STOCK COOLER

I had a stock cooler on a 4790k and it can actually overheat without any overclocking. I mean, its literally the last mainstream intel unlocked CPU that was shipped with a stock cooler, so, taking it off, cleaning the thermal paste and applying new one may help, but for the long run, i would install a better aftermarket cooler, even a cheap one.

well I would not your chip may not be able to achieve that voltage you may only be able to go to 1.20 which is near stock

I had mine at 1.15V for a while at 4,4 GHz stable.
