Posted August 11, 2015 hello techies, My friend has a pc that he uses for gaming but is looking to upgrade his graphics card. His cpu is only an amd 6300 and he wants to get an nvidia gtx 970. I know this is overkill for his cpu and it'll throttle, but I don't know if he took my word for it or is going to upgrade anyways. All I was looking for was some confirmation to show him that he wouldn't benefit that much from a 970, and possibly a recommendation for a card he should get instead. Thanks! -Cantoni Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/428110-upgrading-graphics-card/ Share on other sites
Posted August 11, 2015 Better he get the card and keep it, and upgrade the motherboard and cpu later, then having a shitty gpu when he does. Only drop to a lesser gpu if he plans on upgrading with the saved money. Heaven's Society - Like Anime?
