How to create a Autorun.inf to open a particular folder?

when i insert the my pen drive, it just opens its drive automatically,i want it to open a different folder instead. 

Tried 

[autorun]

icon="setup.ico"

label=WINSETUP

action=Drivers and softwares

open="Drivers and softwares\" 

i can only get the icon to work, the rest just wont work.

My guess it's probably got something to do with spaces in the filenames.

Ah, the problem is different.

"open" tells the computer to open a file, for example run a bat, or a script.It doesn't open a folder in file explorer.

i'm no expert, i also made a autorun called

icon="setup.ico"

label=WINSETUP

action=Drivers and softwares

open="Drivers and softwares\SteamSetup.exe" 

it doesnt open steam setup, so i know i'm doing something else wrong.

You need to make a script to open the folder in windows explorer.

In vbs it would be :

Set objShell = CreateObject("Wscript.Shell")path = "<Path here>"objShell.Run "explorer.exe /e," & path

EDIT: open="Drivers and softwares\SteamSetup.exe" also doesn't work. it just wont open the folder or the exe inside a folder. it just opens the pen drive folder normally

Have you tried writing a batch OR .cmd file and executing it?

explorer.exe "\windows\system32\drivers\etc"
 

within open_HOSTS_dir.bat seems to work fine, you'll just need to have it execute correctly on autorun
