I have been trying to install Windows 10 for 2 days now, with no success. The Windows Update method does not work because I get error 80070002 repeatedly and can not fix it even after running the sfcfix tool and the deleting the softwaredistribution folders. I tried the media creation tool and when I use it to do the update it gives me the error Something happened - We were unable to determine if your computer has enough space to complete the installation. Then I tried to make a USB and boot into it but that just shows the Windows logo and reboots to my bootloader. Speaking of I 3-boot Arch Linux ~340 gigs Kali Linux ~30 gigs and windows with ~540 gigs. I use the grub bootloader which is supposedly the problem but I have been unable to reinstall the Windows bootloader from the Windows 8.1 install disk. I set the active partition to my windows C: drive instead of Linux (still booted fine to my surprise, seeing as the Windows bootloader is nonexistent) I removed the active flag on all other drives but the one that I am trying to install Windows on. If you need some more information or screenshots I can provide them. Thanks for any help rendered.

This is the fix I said with the deleting the software distribution folders... didnt work at all

download just the iso

then burn it with rufus to a usb and upgrade that way

also it sounds like you may have a problem with linux on there

I would backup anything important from that partition to ..just incase you have to delete it

Yes but would Rufus work any different than Easy2Boot?

were you using the media creation tool?

or did you already burn the iso to a usb with easy2boot?

Funny thing is its only linux, i set up symlinks to my windows folders for music videos pictures and documents and the like, the only things i care about on linux are the os and all the tweaks i made

I did it once with media creation tool and once manually with e2b, btw it doesnt burn with easy2boot, it just uses the iso, super nice

well you may as well try doing it the rufus way

if it errors out during the install

then either you got some bad drivers or system files corrupted...or your partitions are messed up and the install can't go forward

Ive heard that a lot of people with multiboot setups have been having this problem, something to do with GRUB

ok and can I use the uefi boot for my flash drive if its gpt and fat32?

gpt and ntfs

has to be ntfs

some of the files are bigger then fat32 can handle
