a cool one i found was this

    2 cups | 200 g flour

    2 tbsp | 20 g baking powder

    1 tsp | 5 g salt

    1/3 cup | 80 g lard or butter

    1¾ cups | 330 ml water or a bit more if needed

    Lard for frying

    Butter and jam for serving

going to try it in the morning :P

Where I live, there's a local specialty known as a 'Bere Bannock'. It's just the same as a normal flour bannock but it's made with a sort of flour that is ground locally. If you've ever heard of a place called Orkney, that's where it's from. (If you haven't, go and do some research! Orkney's awesome)!

 

Google "orkney + bannock" and you'll probably find a lot of recipes for different bannocks along with many other Orkney recipes.
