computers wont boot after 1 month

Go to solution Solved by mgsstar,

alright guys so I bought a multi meter and I plugged a fan in and it worked so then I hooked up all my connections the pc did not boot and the fan did not start so then I took the 4 pin mobo connector out and the hard drive spun the fan spun but the pc obviously did not boot because there is now motherboard power. SO basically the problem is when I plug in the 4 pin power connector ther fan and hard drive do not work but when I take it out they work. is the motherboard faulty or can just that connection be faulty ??????????????

I think it would the motherboard that is causing this problem. Take your motherboard out of the case and run your motherboard on a motherboard box to make sure that your case isn't shorting your motherboard.

Hello all I built 3 computers for my dads office 1 month ago. I tested them out and they worked. My dad needed one so he took it and it is in the office working now. Yesterday he said he needed the other 2 so I went to his office and they would not boot. specs are i3  2130

I tried switching out ram, hdd, psu, cpu with the computer that was working they all worked on the working computer but still no luck on the 2 new ones

Then it could be the mobo. Clear Cmos maybe?

Check that all your power connections are connected properly and your psu switch is set to on. The dust might have shorted something out so try to clean the computer using compressed air to see if it will boot.

I took the battery on the mobo out and put it back in I think that clears the cmos

Use the CMOS jumper also if your motherboard has one to completely reset the CMOS.

unplug Power cord, hold down power button on PC for about 1 min, let it disstarge any static and then plug power cable back in, and see what happens
