Windows 10 is ugh, app window locations.

Go to solution Solved by zacRupnow,

No Solution.

Solution: Windows 10 can suck my ass, time to look into Hackintosh for work and use Windows for media.

I open File Explorer in Windows 10, it always goes back to opening in the top of the screen.

In Windows 8.1 it would ALWAYS open in the bottom left where I first dragged to, and it would only change where it opens to If I moved the window.

Is there any way to force File Explorer to stay opening where I put it?

Where I want it to always open to. (it stayed where I put it in previous OS, even OSX Finder)

Where Windows 10 always opens it to.

It seems like a small complaint, but for me it feels natural to use the bottom left, it's where the application has been for me since I started using PCs in 2005 and also Macs (Finder). And when something feels unnatural or not fluid in a UI it will always be strongly noticed every time.

EDIT - "It opens for me wherever I closed it last time." It does this for me only the first 3 times opening it after moving, then it defaults back to the top. Also I only have one monitor if that matters.

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P
If it's not broken, take it apart and fix it.

I have multiple monitors and it always opens in the same space on the same monitor i closed it on.

I really does strange things.

8/10 it opens in upper right corner of the screen.

2/10 it opens where I put it.

10/10 it opens on the monitor where I put and not on the main monitor.

I tried launching it and closing it several times... sometimes it even opens in a random location.

EDIT:

I just noticed that each time I open it it travels slightly down to the right and once there is no more space it can travel to it just default open in upper left corner... lol.

It seems that if you try and place the window too close to the edge of the screen it reset's it's position. For me, if I leave about 1 icon's width at the bottom and the side it stays in the position I last closed the window.

EDIT: As someone says above, for some strange reason the window moves slightly each time you open it.

Is there any sort of mod or tool that can pin windows so they never move?
