Hello all. I have a question regarding the size of a fan. Im using a old prebuilt i got my hands on as a server and i want to add a fan for more cooling though i dont know what size would fit for this case. Im assuming its 80mm but im not entirely sure. Here is the PC in question: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220217

I believe that's it's a 92mm fan but just take a ruler and measure across form one side to another.

jesus thats some power

If you do go with delta fans I suggest getting a fan controller if you don't already have one.

CPU: I7 4790k  CPU Cooler: NH-D15 GPUMSI 970 4gb   Motherboard: z97 Gaming 5 PSU: Corsair hx850   Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8 gb  SSD: Samsung 850 Evo  Case: Air 540

Not sure of the fan size sorry :/ but I suggest using delta fans for servers :D

Please don't recommend deltas unless you know how to use them

OK for a fan it all depends on the system you have and the case and what you need, what will you be cooling?

If it's in a closet adding some ventilation holes to the closet would be a good idea.

Ok so I checked and there is only one single fan if I am correct in the back it's a 120mm and it's not enough, are there any fans in the front of the case?

You might need to add a hole in front to give more airflow since it has no air circulation

There is not. The only fan's in the system are the CPU cooler and the fan on the PSU.

Im not sure if it would be possible to put a fan on the side where there are some holes.

It's possible to add some 4 holes to where the holes are already and you can attach a 120mm fan, it's just a simple mod a lot of people do,

My roommate did the same mod to his pc ps3 and ps4 for better airflow

I measured it from screw hole to screw hole and i came out to 3.5 inchs

Measure it from frame edge to frame edge that's now they get the fan size but 3.5" screw holes are usually ground 90mm so it would be a 92mm fan.

For a cheap 92mm fan the Arctic ones are not bad from what I've seen:
