STOP ASKING THIS!

Ok, I have seen this posted EVERYWHERE for the last few days and I have to give a consolidated rant to address this.

For the past several years Intel has been operating with the tick-tock shift in performance and every year people point out 2 important factors. First, the performance increase is hardly 10%. Second that the last Gen can be overclocked to nearly as good.    These points are completely valid and true, BUT they do not make the decision in any way more clear.

Pro 4690k argument - The 4690k works nearly as well and can be overclocked to match performance and you dont really need that extra 10%.  Save $30 and put it to a GPU where it counts.  Wait until the Cannon comes out then upgrade.  DDR3 is about as good as DDR4.  ,

Pro 4690k argument flaws- ALL OF THIS CAN BE APPLIED TO THE PREVIOUS GEN.  The 2550K can be clocked to nearly the same speed as 4690k, you can save more the $30, and you can wait till the skylake is 2 generations old to get it...

Pro 6600k- its the "best" gaming CPU available with all the cool features and its only 30$ more and it should last you years.

Pro 6600k flaws-its not that much better?

OK, so I guess I answered the question inadvertently.  If you are looking at the 4690K vs 6600K get the 6600K!!!!!  The reason 6 months ago the 4690k was the go to gaming CPU was because it was the best, THIS IS NOT TRUE ANY MORE.  If your wanting to get the most bang for your buck NEITHER of these is the right CPU for you.

Now Now as @Arty said in my earlier post just chill and calm down because

its only 5% faster and consumes more power

Enough said.Maybe some overclocking improvements or maybe even a mass improvement we don't know yet.
