If you can take out the drive bay in your case then you might consider mounting the SSD on the back of the motherboard to get a little more airflow from the front intake fan. If the drive bay cannot be removed it doesn't matter where you mount it.

On my Define R5, Should I use one the of the trays for my ssd or a slot on the back of the motherboard? Just wondering if there are benefits. I have one intake fan in the front and one exhaust in the top back.

Put it behind the motherboard so you can remove drive trays and improve airflow :)

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
