Unidentified network Ethernet Problem

Hello everyone,

I recently made a post which was about my ethernet and powerline stuff. So I have fixed it so far, I have reset the powerline (connecting them together again), I've also tried connecting my laptop directly to the router via ethernet and there is internet. So now I am in my room with the powerline adapter, all 3 lights are showing that it is transferring data and so on. However in windows 10 thingy majig it is telling me there is an unidentified network via ethernet.

Here is a picture of it: http://gyazo.com/c51af6e43dd7b766b10f117861ada9dc

I do not know what to do, so please help,

Try power cycling the router (and modem if you want).

Try putting the router into modem mode. If you get the same thing then try re installing the driver for your ethernet.

Turn it off, disconnect it from power source, wait for a while then plug it back and turn it on.

When you put the ethernet cable back to your PC, does it work though?

Despite "Unidentified Network"?

Maybe you can reinstall the driver.

Yes i've reinstalled it

Are you with Virgin media? If so put your router into modem mode.

also try plugging the Ethernet cable into another computer or laptop

I saw mention of Win 10... could also just be a driver issue, given it's such a new OS there are plenty of bugs with stuff like this. That all being said, make sure you check all your cables and so on, and if you know the type of Ethernet you are using (be it straight-through, or cross-over) try the other. Sometimes, Auto-MDIX is not a thing, and using the wrong cable means things won't work.

Ok. Done a bit of browsing online for any issues with your kit.

What has came up is that your powerline kit has stability issues.

try plugging it into the same extension or socket as the router powerline. see if that works.

Also is the plug the receiving powerline on the same electrical circuit as the router powerline?
