Alternative to YouTube?

ChristianLopezII

I didn't really know what section to put this in so I just decided to do it here.

So I was looking at You Tubes Recent changes on ad allowances, And I was wondering if there would be the demand, on the creator's side and the viewer's side, for a better video service. One with ad's based on views, and ZERO limits on ad integration. It's just an idea. No plans on being bigger then 15 curious new creators.

Haha, topkek mate.

Youtube is such a powerhouse there are no significant video platforms out there anymore. This isn't post 2009, when you have ebaums, custom sites, and newgrounds for videos. Those sites still exist, but with much more niche groups, while anything mainstream or even fringe has moved over to the Youtubes.

I suppose, if someone wanted to try something different, then places like that would still be an option. But the viewer base is small, and the chance to be 'found' is even smaller.

Vimeo's player is sub-par

There's this, but also Vimeo seems to be more for film makers then for internet video anyway.

aside from technical issues (which is not really a major problem anymore for both creator & viewer)

copyright infringement issues is more concerning for cc.

one of my favourite channel explain they got strike for a raining sound from music company (which they explain the video was shot when it rains)

when they've tried to use other video services, their video most of time taken down immediately.
